What to Expect at Our Medical Detox
At Desert Rose, our state-of-the-art medical detox will get you or your loved one comfortably and safely through the detoxification process. Whether you need to detox off opioids, benzos, alcohol or another addictive substance, we have one of the most skilled and best equipped medical detox facilities available.
A medical detox must leave nothing to chance. For the sake of the patient’s safety and comfort, this process must be done properly. This means having detox nurses on duty 24-hours a day, 7-days a week to provide not only a medication-assisted detox process, but to respond to any tertiary symptoms should they arise.
A proper medical detox is the right way to begin addiction treatment and recovery. This page will explain what to expect from the Desert Rose medical detox admissions and treatment process.
Recovery Begins with Action
We have the medical detox expertise, facilities and treatment protocols you or your loved one need to finally get free of the torment of addiction safely. However, we can only help if you make the first move. Thankfully, the process is surprisingly simple. We are very good at what we do at Desert Rose medical detox. We have made our admissions process as streamlined as possible.
How to Get Started:
- Call Desert Rose Medical Detox (855) 866-6191
- Tell us how we can help.
- Insurance Verification.
- Clinical Intake Interview
Preparing for a Medical Detox
Getting started is simple. Give Desert Rose Detox a call and let us know what you need help with. It’s best if we can speak with the patient at this time, but it’s not absolutely necessary until the clinical intake process. If you want to call for someone else, you are welcome to! Let’s talk! If the goal is for the person to admit for medical detox soon (within the next 24-48 hours) then it’s important to get the insurance verification process started as soon as possible.
This will let you know what your (or the patients) insurance plan covers and any deductibles or up-front costs that may be incurred. An insurance benefits check at Desert Rose medical detox is easy and usually takes less than an hour. Insurance verification does NOT commit you or anyone else to treatment at Desert Rose Detox. What it will do is give you a clearer picture of your options for yourself or your loved one. This will help you make an informed decision about what to do next.
For insurance verification, all you need is:
- A health/medical insurance card
- The patient’s full name, date of birth and social security number (or last 4 digits)
- A phone number to call you back at when we have information to share.
What to Expect Next
Once the first three steps are complete, it’s time for us to speak with the prospective patient and get some details. The clinical intake can be done over the phone and usually takes between 20-30 minutes. It may take longer depending on the patient’s history. Desert Rose Detox became South Florida’s most trusted medical detox because of our attention to detail. So, we want to leave no stone unturned. The more we know about the patient’s history and needs, the better equipped we are to help.
Tips for the Clinical Intake Interview:
- Try to find a private place to talk comfortably and allow at least 30 minutes for the call.
- Be open and honest. There is no judgment here. Tell us the whole, unfiltered truth.
- Write down a list of questions you have for us so we can answer them during the call.
- Be prepared with dates and names of other rehabs you may have been to if you can.
- Have a list of any prescribed medications you take currently, if possible.
- Tell us about any diagnosed medical conditions or mental health disorders you have.
Admitting to Desert Rose Medical Detox
After the clinical intake interview is done all that’s left for you to do is wait for approval to admit. Our clinical director will review the patient intake to make certain we have all the information we need and that Desert Rose Medical Detox is a good fit for your needs. The approval generally happens within an hour or less, we understand the urgency, our patients are always our top priority.
The Admissions Process:
- Clinical Intake is approved and a date and time for admit is set.
- Pack and prepare for medical detox treatment.
- Patient is driven to Desert Rose Detox (or we pick them up)
- Check-in and admit.
Once admission is approved, it’s smooth sailing. Together we decide when the patient will admit. We ask that patients do not drive themselves to Desert Rose Detox. Either have a trusted family member or sober support bring them, or just ask us.
We are happy to provide ground transportation from any local address, including the three major airports in our area (PBI, FLL and MIA). We can also meet admitting patients at the Okeechobee Amtrak station or Mangonia Park Tri-Rail train stations or the Greyhound bus terminal in Port St. Lucie.
When you Arrive
When you arrive at Desert Rose Detox, the admissions process begins. This doesn’t take too long. You will be seen by one of our detox nurses as soon as possible. They will do a basic physical, assess your condition and ask about any symptoms you may be experiencing. You will fill out some paperwork and staff will explain the program basics and answer your questions. As soon as it is clinically appropriate, we will begin our complete medical detox protocol and get you comfortable.
While at Desert Rose Detox, you will:
